Simply put, I don't want to take anyone's guns away.  I don't want your guns.  If you want to own a gun or guns, then you should have to show you are responsible enough to own one.  That responsibility includes the safe operation, understanding and storage of your guns.  If you can't show you are responsible through competence, training and your background then you should not be allowed to own a gun.  We don't need legislation on guns.  We need legislation on people. 

It's not an open and shut case.  You can talk to hunters and outdoors men and they are somewhat divided.  Many say there is no sporting use for "AK" style guns.  But those who say that are sometimes the first to defend the right to own one.   Many people say I am too moderate on this issue.  I know that as your Senator it my job to represent you, not dictate to you.  For me, it must be the will of the people.  That hasn't happened with our current representatives.  Gun lobbies, special interest groups and other few but powerful organizations have influenced them and they haven't listened to you.    I say...
